District appoints new Middle School Principal

August 10, 2009—Mr. Brian Whitley was named Principal of Voorheesville Middle School at a special meeting of the Board of Education on Friday, August, 7, 2009.  Mr. Whitley was selected from a strong field of applicants after an interview process that included many stakeholder groups within the community.  Mr. Whitley most recently served as Assistant Principal of Koda Middle School in Shenendehowa Central School District.  His background is in guidance and counseling, as well as administration.  Superintendent, Dr. Teresa Thayer Snyder says:  "I am delighted that our administrative team is now in place and that Voorheesville Middle School attracted such a strong pool of candidates.  Mr. Whitley will add much to our mission as we move into this school year and for many years to come."
