International Club is a great way to meet new people and experience new
things. Learning to accept other peoples cultures is an imperative tool
for life beyond high school. Learning about other cultures is an
interactive way for students appreciate diversity, which will help them
in their futures.
What is International Club?
International Club is a student-run organization that focuses on
learning about different cultures. The goal is to spread the idea of
celebrating diversity throughout the school.
International Club is most notably known for setting up the annual
French and Spanish exchanges. Every year, students from a Spanish and
French high school either visit Voorheesville or host students from
Voorheesville in their homes for approximately two weeks. This program
has become increasingly popular and is a staple to our club and school.
International Club is responsible for finding suitable homes for the
students, setting up field trips so that students can see what life in
the United States is like outside of a classroom, and making sure that
the entire student body has a positive experience.
Past club activities/events:
-
Setting up field trips to Boston,
Montreal, New York City, Lake Placid, Stockbridge
Massachusetts and local restaurants.
-
International cooking workshops with
cuisine from Spain, Mexico, Greece, Africa and China.
-
Hosting students for one year from countries like Ghana, Paraguay, Czech
Republic, New Zealand and Brazil.

a specific country each month.
