A Message from Principal Ken Lein
To the School Community,
Another school year is about to end. As I prepare
for Kindergarten Celebration and Fifth Grade Graduation, I am once again
amazed at the passage of time. While I feel we should never wish away
time, I do love and look forward to these events as they represent
important moments in our lives that fill us with wonderful memories.
Speaking of wonderful memories, unfortunately we are losing some fine
staff members. Mrs. Loomes will be moving with her family to Boston and
Mrs. Relyea, Mrs. Donohue, and Mrs. Beck are retiring after many years
of dedicated service. We wish you all well.
Looking back, it was a good year. The students
demonstrated success academically, artistically, athletically and in the
area of being good citizens. The staff has accomplished many things this
year professionally as they’ve embarked on some exciting approaches to
improving an already strong literacy program. As usual, the parents
stepped up in many ways from PTA volunteerism, to volunteering in the
classrooms, and to supporting the everyday grind of working with their
children to be the best they can be.
Be sure that you add the importance of reading to
what you do to enjoy the summer. It is so important in adding to one’s
cumulative knowledge and it is so easy to lose the effects of much of
the good work from the school year when we let it go for a couple of
months.
Have an enjoyable and safe summer.
Thanks to all,
Ken Lein
